Dutch Trade Mission March 2012

In the end of March 2012 BC Serdon prepared a group mission for Dutch companies operating in the environmental sector, water treatment and waste management. During the Dutch Trade Mission, which took place from 27 to 29 March 2012, representatives of the companies held meetings with some of the leaders on the Bulgarian market. The parties exchanged valuable information on the situation of the sector, the relative regulations, the preferences and demands of the clients. Real opportunities for expanding Dutch business in Bulgaria were created. The Dutch companies visited the Sofia waste water treatment plant in Kubratovo, and met representatives of the Ministry of Environment and Water and other state agencies officials for direct discussions on the hot topics of interest.

The Mission has been deemed successful by the Dutch companies, and Bulgarian participants also expressed their gratitude for being given the opportunity to establish valuable business contacts. After these initial steps, the mutually beneficial contacts are to come shortly.

In the very heat of summer, Serdon organized an individual trade mission for Spanish cooling equipment manufacturer Infrico S.L (http://www.infrico.com/). A series of bilateral meetings, organized by Serdon, took place in the period from August 1 to 4, 2011 that introduced representatives of the Spanish company to Bulgarian producers, distributors and traders. Through its antenna in Bulgaria, Serdon, EXTENDA – the Trade Promotion Agency of Andalucia, once again facilitated the parties in establishing promising business contacts and future partnerships.

Successful language reverse mission to Spain

The Bulgarian company - BERI GROUP (http://www.study-abroad.bg/, http://rodina-bg.com/), that was selected to participate in this reverse trade mission received the chance to become part of such an international event, established professional contacts with the leading Andalusian language schools for foreigners and with the other international participants as well. During their visit to Andalusia, the Bulgarian company took a first-hand look at the Spanish schools’ premises and study agendas. All participants received the invaluable chance to exchange views and experience and to establish professional contacts for potential future cooperation.

Less than a month later, we already have a success story. The Bulgarian company has already signed a Contract for cooperation with one of the Spanish language schools. Both parties will actively work for the further popularization of the Spanish language and culture among the Bulgarian elementary, high school and university students.

In the period March – June 2011, Serdon business consultancy received three Spanish students

in Business administration doing their Erasmus Internship exchange. During their practice in Bulgaria, they studied Serdon’s main activities and contributed actively to our undergoing projects. Serdon, as one of the most progressive companies in Bulgaria, decisively encourages such experience exchange initiatives among the European countries and we strongly believe that by helping students get their first steps in real work environment we contribute to a more united and unified Europe without boundaries.

Promotion of Bulgarian investment climate in Seville, Spain

On April 13, 2011 Ms Elena Tosheva, Project Manager from Serdon, participated in a Technical Session on the business climate in Bulgaria, Ukraine, Turkey, Romania and South Korea in Seville, organized by the EXTENDA - Trade Promotion Agency of Andalusia. Our representative presented the favorable investment and business opportunities in Bulgaria in front of the renowned Andalusian business auditory from various sectors. Our representative conducted meetings with leading Andalusian companies that expressed their extremely high interest in our country as a preferred business destination.

Successful regional Integrated Pest Management training

On April 7 & 8, RCI organized together with USAID Macedonia AgBiz project Integrated Pest Management training. Our official lecturer was Prof. Dr. Slobodan Bandzo from the Macedonian Institute of Agriculture, who presented technical and practical advices of great interest to our selected professional group from the region. The participants in the training were recommended to attend and sponsored by each USAID country project working with agriculture. We had 15 participants from Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo, Macedonia and Montenegro.

On April 8, in an organized field trip, the trainees visited a green house in Southern Macedonia, where they could see the actual techniques of Integrated Pest Management at work and also get familiar with modern greenhouse operations.

PVC, polyethylene and polypropylene pipe mission

In the period March 21 – 24 BC Serdon, reaffirming its longterm cooperation with the EXTENDA - Trade Promotion Agency of Andalusia, organized and conducted an individual Spanish Trade Mission in Bulgaria of the leading Spanish producer of PVC, polyethylene and polypropylene pipes for water supply networks and sewerage. Various bilateral meetings were conducted with the leading Bulgarian companies in the sector which facilitated the mutual acquaintance and interchange of information, the establishment of contacts and potential successful future partnerships.
