On May 18-20, In Sarajevo, Bosnia &  Herzegovina, the Regional Competitiveness Initiative (RCI) marked its 5th Annual Regional Event on Competitiveness, Finance and Economic Growth. Serdon, in its role as regional hub and facilitator of the project was again responsible for the overall organization and management of the event.

The event hosted officials and experts, coming from 10 countries of the Southeast Europe region, all involved in competitiveness and growth enhancing activities and undertakings under the auspices of the USAID. The summit provided excellent operational and networking opportunities for all the parties involved, as general topics of the discussions were the possible responses to economic crisis conditions, latest trends in regional financial sector programs, brief presentations of country and regional reports.

On the second day of the conference, Serdon’s managing director, Mrs. Gergana Valova, was honored to present a report on Access to Finance in the Southeast Europe region, prepared by a team of finance and economics experts at Serdon. The report includes and systemizes data for the current investment environment in the region, as an accent is put on strategic and portfolio investments, banking, structural funding from the European Union (EU) and other International Financial Institutions (IFIs), as well as on possible scenarios for the future development of the area. On April 6-8th 2010, Serdon successfully facilitated the carry out of two major events within the framework of the Regional Competitiveness Initiative (RCI). The 2nd Regional Workforce Development Conference and the Regional IT B2B summit took place simultaneously in the renowned Aleksandar Palace Hotel in Skopje, Macedonia, and provided ground for both public officials and private companies from the whole region of Southeast Europe to exchange best practices, ideas and contacts.

The IT B2B summit drew particular attention, as more than 150 participants from more than 80 companies from the IT sector in region registered and attended the event in the search of new partners, markets and products.
Serdon was responsible for the overall organization and carry out of the events, including the identification and individual matchmaking of participants in the IT B2B summit. We have arranged more than 40 individual meeting prior the event.

For a sixth consecutive year Serdon is in charge of the representation of the Royal Embassy of the Netherlands in Bulgaria at AGRA Fair in Plovdiv, Bulgaria. Representatives of eight Dutch companies arrived in Bulgaria to participate in the exhibition and to meet potential Bulgarian partners. The Serdon team consulted and organized a bilateral Dutch-Bulgarian business mission with more than 70 targeted meetings in different branches of the agricultural sector.  Additionally, Serdon was responsible for the overall preparation and management of the exhibition booth.

AGRA Fair extends from 23.02.10 to 27.10.10 and hosts more than 360 active participants from both European and non-European countries.

On September 23rd BC Serdon’s founder and executive manager, Mrs. Gergana Valova had the pleasure to attend Prof. Philip Kotler’s seminar on “The business of managing and marketing in the age of turbulence”. Prof. Kotler is broadly recognized as the inventor of modern marketing.
The event found place in the National Palace of Culture in Sofia and hosted more than 1600 business executives from all sectors of the Bulgarian economy. The topics discussed proved to be interesting and innovative, as they mainly concerned the new dimensions of global economics and successful marketing approaches in times of crisis.
