On May 18-20, In Sarajevo, Bosnia & Herzegovina, the Regional Competitiveness Initiative (RCI) marked its 5th Annual Regional Event on Competitiveness, Finance and Economic Growth. Serdon, in its role as regional hub and facilitator of the project was again responsible for the overall organization and management of the event.
The event hosted officials and experts, coming from 10 countries of the Southeast Europe region, all involved in competitiveness and growth enhancing activities and undertakings under the auspices of the USAID. The summit provided excellent operational and networking opportunities for all the parties involved, as general topics of the discussions were the possible responses to economic crisis conditions, latest trends in regional financial sector programs, brief presentations of country and regional reports.
On the second day of the conference, Serdon’s managing director, Mrs. Gergana Valova, was honored to present a report on Access to Finance in the Southeast Europe region, prepared by a team of finance and economics experts at Serdon. The report includes and systemizes data for the current investment environment in the region, as an accent is put on strategic and portfolio investments, banking, structural funding from the European Union (EU) and other International Financial Institutions (IFIs), as well as on possible scenarios for the future development of the area.
