From August 24-30, 2005, BC Serdon organized a wine tour in Bulgaria for a group of American wine experts. This tour offered the participants the opportunity to learn more about the wineries’ technology and production cycles and to test some of the local wines. Participants visited representative wineries in all five wine regions of the country. The chosen wineries ranged from large to small, including modern and commercially successful enterprises. The experts met with winery managers and technicians, who explained the technology used and the production cycle. The tour focused particularly on the production of Cabernet and Merlot. The smoothly organized tour also gave the American visitors a chance to get to know the Bulgarian countryside, to visit important sights and to experience the local cuisine and culture.
